The microgreens research database · 2,000+ papers · 2004 to 2026

Every microgreens paper I could find, in one searchable place.

Open any paper to read its abstract and go straight to the full text. Every paper is tagged by crop and by topic, and the ones where people ate microgreens are marked.

Try a crop, a nutrient or an author’s name. Search covers titles and abstracts.

How to read a result

A paper is a starting point, not an answer

Microgreens are not sprouts

Every paper here names microgreens. Many still compare them with sprouts or the grown plant. Check which one was measured.

A lab is not a person

Most papers measure plants, cells or animals. Only 3 measured people who ate microgreens. Those carry the yellow tag.

The table beats the title

The title is the claim. The methods hold the growing conditions, the sample size and the limits.

Ask the papers

For the questions a keyword cannot answer

Search finds papers. Some questions need many papers read together, like what twenty LED studies agree on, or which crops lost vitamin C in storage.

Ask the papers reads the ones you pick and answers in plain words. Every answer names the papers it came from, so you can check it. You bring an AI key from the company you choose, and that company bills you for what you use.

Where the papers come from

I searched PubMed, OpenAlex, Crossref, Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar. Every paper names microgreens in its title or abstract, and no two share a DOI or a title. Records current through September 19, 2026.

How the topics were drawn

Each paper is tagged by keyword into topics under three sections: Eat (what is in them and what it does), Grow (light, media, seed, harvest and storage) and Sell (food safety, taste and cost). A paper can carry more than one topic. Crop tags come the same way. A keyword tag can miss, so a paper without a tag is not a paper without that subject. Papers that looked like human studies were read by hand: of 145 flagged, 3 measured people who ate microgreens.

How this differs from Doc Green

Doc Green answers from the posts on this site and the studies behind them. This database is the papers themselves, for when you want to read the evidence yourself. Ask Doc Green →

The research database lists published research for education. Nothing here is medical advice, and no microgreen treats, prevents or cures any condition. Talk with your physician before you change your diet for a health reason.
