Garlic Fried Rice

Garlic Fried Rice Or Pulav using Basmati Rice & Lahsun served with Dal Tadka over moody background
This easy stir-fry is a great healthy dinner for one. Make it your own by choosing between beef and chicken. Vegetarian? Skip the meat altogether, or sub in tofu.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons canola oil divided
  • 4 ounces stir-fried beef or boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 cup chopped broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 3/4 cup cooked brown rice
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a medium skillet over medium-low heat
  2. Add tofu and cook for 5 minutes (Stir)
  3. Transfer the tofu to a plate and return the pan to the heat
  4. Add the remaining 1 teaspoon of oil to the pan
  5. Add broccoli and water
  6. Cook for 5 minutes
  7. Stir until tender and light brown
  8. Add garlic and ginger
  9. Cook for 2 more minutes
  10. Stir in rice, soy sauce, and vinegar
  11. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes
  12. Create a hole in the center
  13. Crack the egg in the middle
  14. Scramble the egg
  15. Stir into the rice, along with the tofu
  16. Turn off the fire and spoon the dish onto a plate
  17. Sprinkle with crushed red pepper
  18. Serve and enjoy!
